On Monday morning, 4th September 2023, at 2.30am 46 students and their teachers drove from Germany to England to spend a week with host families and to get to know the country. All were really excited.
First of all, the journey was quite long. We drove from Winsen through the Netherlands and Belgium to France (Calais). There we took a ferry toDover. After arriving in England we went by bus to Seaford. It´s a beautiful place near Brighton with a nice beach. Our host families pickedus up and took us to their homes.
Our host families were very kind. Every day they pepared breakfast, a lunch box and dinner for us, although the food was different from our German meals. Every morning they drove us to our coach and back. Itwas really fun and interesting to talk to them because we talked English all the time and they told us cool facts about their country and area.
The day after our arrival we went to Brighton which was awesome. There we visited a museum and went to a pier. On Wednesday we drove toLondon and did some sightseeing. We crossed Tower Bridge, saw the Elizabeth Tower, London Eye and other attractions. Our feet hurt because we are not used to walking for hours. On our third day we went to the Seven Sisters Cliffs. They were really, really beautiful. It was an exhausting walk, but it was definitely worth it. After that we drove to Greenwich and went to another pier and to the beach. On our last daywe visited London again. First we visited the Natural History Museumwhich was interesting and cool. We saw bones of a real dinosaur. We liked it and would like to go there again. Then we went on a ride of the London Eye and had an amazing view of London from above. At the endof our trip to London we had some freetime in groups. At 7 pm we got on the coach again and drove back home. On Saturday we arrived in Winsen at about 11 am, so it was a long journey again.
All in all, it was an amazing and interesting tour. We would love to go to England again one day and can recommend it to every student.
